There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Chorale de Roanne (13-12) defeated at home 6th ranked Le Mans (13-10) 105-92 on Friday. Chorale de Roanne forced 21 Le Mans turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American swingman Ronald March (196-1993, college: Philander Smith) fired 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Angolan forward Silvio de Sousa (206-1998, college: Chattanooga) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. March is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Matt Morgan (188-1997, college: Cornell) produced 36 points (!!!) and 4 assists and the former international guard Terry Tarpey (195-1994, college: William & Mary) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Four Le Mans players scored in double figures. Le Mans' coach Elric Delord rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chorale de Roanne maintains eighth place with 13-12 record. Loser Le Mans keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. Chorale de Roanne will meet Gravelines-Dunkerque (#9) on the road in the next round. Le Mans will play against the league's second-placed Metropolitans having rather not much hope for a victory.
