There was no surprise in Tel Aviv where 7th ranked Bnei Hasharon (9-12) was defeated by second ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (17-4) 105-87 on Saturday. Hapoel Tel-Aviv shot 61.3 percent from the field and made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. Hapoel Tel-Aviv looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Guard JCovan Brown (188-1990, college: Texas) stepped up and scored 25 points and 9 assists for the winners and swingman Jordan McRae (197-1991, college: Tennessee) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Maurice Kemp (203-1991, college: ECU) with 22 points and 4 assists and center Julian Gamble (208-1989, college: Miami, FL) scored 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Hapoel Tel-Aviv and five Bnei Hasharon players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Hapoel Tel-Aviv. They maintain second place with 17-4 record behind leader M.Tel-Aviv. Bnei Hasharon at the other side keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with H.Be'er Sheva. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will meet Hapoel Eilat (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bnei Hasharon will play against E.Kiryat Ata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
