There was an upset when second-best Socuellamos (15-7) lost at home to seventh ranked Tenerife Naut. (13-9) 69-63 on Saturday. The winners were led by swingman Imobach Gonzalez (193-1993) who scored that evening 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Jorge Del Pino (194-1996) supported him with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four Tenerife Naut. players scored in double figures. Even 8 points and 7 rebounds by Cape Verdean forward Amarilson Semedo (194-1995) did not help to save the game for Socuellamos. American guard Khion Sankey (196-1992, college: Lipscomb) added 11 points. Socuellamos' coach Manuel Jimenez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
