There was no surprise when 6th ranked Vllaznia (1-16) was crushed on the road by third ranked Tirana (10-8) 109-69 on Saturday. Tirana dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Vllaznia's 28. They outrebounded Vllaznia 44-27 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tirana looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Vllaznia's players. Julian Hamati stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners and the former international center Endrit Hysenagolli (208-1988) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tirana maintains third place with 10-8 record having six points less than leader Beselidhja. Vllaznia lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Tirana will meet Apolonia (#5) in the next round. Vllaznia will play against the league's second-placed Teuta and hope to win that game.
