There was no surprise when 13th ranked Saint Chamond (10-15) was defeated on the road by third ranked Boulazac Basket (17-8) 84-68 on Saturday. American guard Raijon Kelly (193-1993, college: Angelo St.) fired 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. Olivier Cortale (207-1997) chipped in 8 points and 11 rebounds. Center Mathieu Boyer (208-1995) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Jonathan Hoyaux (194-1988) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Boulazac Basket maintains third place with 17-8 record having just two points less than leader Saint Quentin. Loser Saint Chamond keeps the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Evreux and Stade Rochelais. Boulazac Basket will meet JA Vichy (#6) on the road in the next round. Saint Chamond will play against Aix-Maurienne (#16) in Aix-les-Bains and hope to secure a win.
