Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Ieper and 5th ranked Giants B had identical 2-3 record. This time Ieper used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Antwerp 67-59 on Saturday night. Ieper outrebounded Giants B 41-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. Thomas Mertens (190-1993) notched 19 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and Bulgarian center Spas Nikolov (208-1997, college: Winnipeg) supported him with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Four Ieper players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 7 rebounds by Seppe Willems (202-1999) did not help to save the game for Giants B. Guard Noah Meeusen (189-2005) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Ieper have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Neufchateau. Giants B lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the sixth position with four games lost.
