The game in Handlova supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Komarno (15-13) played at the court of 8th ranked Handlova (5-23). Komarno smashed Handlova 109-74 on Saturday. Komarno dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Handlova's 30. Komarno forced 23 Handlova turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Handlova's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Shane Gatling (188-1998, college: Colorado) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and Serbian swingman Luka Gasic (195-1998) who added 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Komarno players scored in double figures. Komarno's coach Zlatko Jovanovic felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Richard Rozanek (193-1999) responded with 21 points and American swingman Elizjah Scott (198-1999, college: LMU) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Komarno maintains fourth position with 15-13 record, which they share with Lucenec. Handlova lost thirteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games.
