Regular Season Round 24: BT Madrid - Boadilla 64-68

There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Boadilla (3-19) defeated on the road 11th ranked BT Madrid (7-14) 68-64 on Saturday. Boadilla forced 24 BT Madrid turnovers. Strangely BT Madrid outrebounded Boadilla 45-31 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by Raul Perez (194-1992) who scored that evening 14 points and center Jaime Govantes (201-2002) supported him with 12 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists by Hugo Perez (-2004) did not help to save the game for BT Madrid. Forward Asier De la Iglesia (201-1983) added 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four BT Madrid players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Boadilla maintains fourteenth position with 3-19 record. BT Madrid lost fourth consecutive game. BT Madrid at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eighth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Marbella and Torta del Casar. Boadilla will meet at home higher ranked Chlorella (#10) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. BT Madrid will play against Guimar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
