Leader Ferrol delivered the twenty fifth win on Saturday night. This time they crushed 10th ranked Real Canoe (12-16) 76-52. Ferrol forced 20 Real Canoe turnovers and outrebounded them 43-21 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Haitian swingman Jessica Fequiere (180-1993, college: Albany) fired 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Forward Marta Gomez (184-1997, college: Wyoming) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Ferrol players scored in double figures. Ferrol's coach Lino Lopez felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Carmen Molina (180-1999) produced 11 points and Portuguese forward Mariana Silva (184-1999) added 11 points respectively for lost side. Ferrol (25-3) have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Real Canoe at the other side keeps the tenth place with 16 games lost. Ferrol are looking forward to face Azkoitia (#14) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Real Canoe will play against Celta Zorka (#5) in Vigo and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
