There was no surprise when 10th ranked Carolinas (7-16) lost on the road to second ranked Molina (18-4) 89-81 on Saturday. Molina made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. The winners were led by Javier Velasco (-2001) who scored that evening 19 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and forward Gregory Cadme (194-1999) supported him with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Even 18 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) by Beninese forward Nathan Cledjo (-2000) did not help to save the game for Carolinas. Point guard Andres Ortin (181-1994) added 13 points and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Molina have an impressive six-game winning streak. Newly promoted Molina maintains second position with 18-4 record having just three points less than leader Huelva CD. Loser Carolinas keeps the tenth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Tabirako and Begastri. Molina will meet Jorge Juan (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Carolinas will have a break next round.
