No shocking result in a game when second ranked Chalon/Saor (18-7) won against at home 5th ranked Chalons-Reims (15-10) 81-73 on Saturday. Chalon/Saor looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international guard Antoine Eito (188-1988) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Lionel Gaudoux (198-1995) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Chalon/Saor players scored in double figures. Chalon/Saor's coach Savo Vucevic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian Djordje Milosevic (199-1993, agency: PEPI SPORT) produced 22 points and 5 rebounds and Cameroonian guard Samir Gbetkom Bikantchou (191-1998) added 17 points respectively for lost side. Chalon/Saor maintains second place with 18-7 record behind leader Saint Quentin. Loser Chalons-Reims keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Chalon/Saor will meet at home bottom-ranked Saint Vallier (#18) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Chalons-Reims will play against La Rochelle (#13) and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the Betclic ELITE ProA just one year after relegation.
