Regular Season Round 24: Castello - Aranguren 63-54

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Castello (20-4) defeated 11th ranked Aranguren (8-16) in Castellon 63-54 on Sunday. It was a great shooting night for Castello especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. The winners were led by forward Aina Martin (178-2000) who scored that evening 16 points and 5 rebounds and Laura Campos (-2001) supported her with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Castello players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 15 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists by forward Beatriz Royo (176-1991, agency: Promo Sport ID) did not help to save the game for Aranguren. Irati Ibanez added 15 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Castello have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-4 record. Aranguren lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with 16 games lost. Castello will meet GEIG (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aranguren will play against the league's second-placed Segle XXI in Barcelona and hope to secure a win.
