Another interesting game for Segle XXI (19-5) which played in Palma de Mallorca against second-best Sant Josep (18-6). Third ranked Segle XXI had an easy win 59-42. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Sant Josep. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Iyana Martin (172-2006) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 5 assists and Cristina Sanchez who added 7 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Senegalese forward Aya Traore (188-1983, college: Purdue) with 9 points and 5 rebounds and guard Ana Tainta (173-2000, college: Portland St.) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Segle XXI have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Sant Josep at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. They share it with Viladecans. Segle XXI will play against Aranguren (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sant Josep will play against Viladecans (#4) in Barcelona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
