Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked La Leonesa (15-8) outplayed on the road 9th ranked Ourense (9-14) 88-61 on Sunday. La Leonesa forced 19 Ourense turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by Argentinian swingman Federico Copes (199-2002) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Diego Bulto (188-2002) supported him with 18 points. Even 16 points and 5 rebounds by Romanian Gabriel Preotu (188-2001) did not help to save the game for Ourense. Ivorian forward Tape Teti (200-2000) added 12 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. La Leonesa moved-up to third place, which they share with Tarragona and Obradoiro S. Loser Ourense keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Porrino and Martorell. La Leonesa will meet at home Avila (#4) in the next round. Ourense will play against the league's second-placed Marin (#2) and hope to secure a win.
