We should mention about the upset which took place in Kfar Blum, where higher ranked Galil Elion (11-11) lost at home to tenth ranked Hapoel Eilat (7-14) 72-79 on Monday. Hapoel Eilat outrebounded Galil Elion 48-32 including 36 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Antonius Cleveland (196-1994, college: SEMO) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and forward Eric Griffin (203-1990, college: Campbell) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was guard Deishuan Booker (190-1996, college: LBSU, agency: Octagon Europe) with 21 points and 4 assists and forward Bryce Washington (201-1996, college: Louisiana) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Galil Elion players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Hapoel Eilat. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with E.Kiryat Ata. Galil Elion at the other side keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. Hapoel Eilat will meet at home league's second-placed Hapoel Tel-Aviv in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Galil Elion will play against Hapoel Holon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
