There was no surprise when 9th ranked Besancon (1-4) lost on the road to seventh ranked Rueil (3-2) 91-81 on Tuesday. Rueil dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Besancon's 24. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 21 passes made by Besancon's players. Swingman Steven Ricard (200-1990) nailed 28 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and Brazilian center Felipe Braga (213-1994) accounted for 22 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Mali point guard Siriman Kanoute (181-2001) came up with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Jonathan Boucaud (187-1995) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively for Besancon in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rueil moved-up to second place, which they share with 7 other teams. Besancon lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with Orchies. Rueil will meet Lyon (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Besancon will play against Tours and hope to win that game.
