There was no surprise when 16th ranked Manresa (7-18) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Tenerife (18-7) 100-87 on Wednesday. Tenerife made 29-of-30 free shots (96.7 percent) during the game, while Manresa only scored nine points from the stripe. Tenerife looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Georgian center Giorgi Shermadini (217-1989, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up and scored 21 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) for the winners and Canadian-Dutch forward Aaron Doornekamp (201-1985, college: Carleton, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. Four Tenerife players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Devin Robinson (203-1995, college: Florida) responded with 12 points and 6 rebounds and guard Daniel Garcia (185-1998) scored 11 points and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Tenerife. They maintain fourth place with 18-7 record. Loser Manresa keeps the sixteenth position with 18 games lost. Tenerife will meet Real Betis (#17) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Manresa will play against the league's second-placed Baskonia in Vitoria and hope to secure a win.
