The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Sabah (16-7) in Baku on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Xirdalan (16-7) 84-69. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Sabah. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Damon McDowell (193, college: NC-Wesleyan) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Andrew Corum (201-1997, college: Virginia St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Xirdalan players scored in double figures. American forward AJ Patty (204-1995, college: MSU) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Nigerian forward Udun Osakue (198-1992, college: SF State, agency: Interperformances) added 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Sabah. Xirdalan have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Gence and Sabah.
