Regular Season Round 26: Albacete - Palencia 80-88

LEB Gold top team - Palencia (23-4) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixteenth ranked Albacete (5-21) 88-80. Albacete was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Alec Wintering (183-1995, college: Portland) notched 20 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and DR Congolese-Canadian guard Mathieu Kamba (196-1995, college: Cent Arkansas) supported him with 8 points and 8 rebounds. Even 24 points by Danish swingman David Knudsen (190-1994, college: Marist, agency: Players Group) did not help to save the game for Albacete. Forward Ivan Aurrecoechea (204-1995, college: NM State) added 16 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Palencia maintains first position with 23-4 record, which they share with Andorra. Albacete lost seventh consecutive game. Albacete at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the seventeenth place with 21 games lost. They share the position with Iraurgi SB. Palencia will play against Caceres (#12) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Albacete will play against Burgos (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
