No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (13-14) beat bottom-ranked Provence Basket (8-17) in Fos-sur-Mer 69-63 on Friday. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Kenny Boynton (188-1991, college: Florida) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Vince Edwards (203-1996, college: Purdue) accounted for 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. American point guard Stephen Brown Jr (180-1996, college: Bucknell) came up with 15 points and Jamaican center Shevon Thompson (213-1993, college: GMU) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Provence Basket in the defeat. Gravelines-Dunkerque moved-up to ninth place. Loser Provence Basket dropped to the bottom position with 17 games lost. Gravelines-Dunkerque will meet at home higher ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Provence Basket will play against Paris (#13) and hope to secure a win.
