Regular Season Round 26: Vichy Clermont - Boulazac 77-79

The most exciting game of round 26 in the ProB took place in Vichy. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 7th ranked JA Vichy (14-12) to third ranked Boulazac Basket (18-8) 79-77 on Friday evening. Boulazac Basket outrebounded JA Vichy 43-32 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American point guard Nicolas Moore (175-1992, college: SMU) who scored 19 points. Croatian point guard Martin Junakovic (188-1994, agency: PEPI SPORT) chipped in 16 points. American guard Tray Boyd III (193-1998, college: ETSU) produced 28 points and 5 assists and forward Ivan Fevrier (204-1999) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Four JA Vichy players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Boulazac Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 18-8 record having just two points less than leader Saint Quentin. JA Vichy at the other side keeps the seventh place with 12 games lost. Boulazac Basket are looking forward to face Aix-Maurienne (#16) in Aix-les-Bains in the next round which should be an easy win for them. JA Vichy will play on the road against ASA (#9) in Gries and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
