Regular Season Round 25: Mataro UE - Girona B 81-71

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Mataro UE as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Mataro UE defeated 6th ranked Girona B at home 81-71. Forward Jordi Juanola (196-1998) stepped up and scored 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and forward Pol Canovas (203-1999) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Mataro UE players scored in double figures. At the losing side Ferran Diaz (187-2003, agency: BIG) responded with 26 points (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) and point guard Adria Moncanut (183-2002) scored 19 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mataro UE (21-3) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Chantada. Girona B lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with ten games lost. Girona B will play next round against Mataro Parc trying to get back on the winning streak. Mataro UE will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Castelldefels on the road.
