Regular Season Round 25: Iraklis - Amyntas 88-70

There was no surprise in Thessaloniki where 13th ranked Amyntas (9-16) was defeated by sixth ranked Iraklis (16-9) 88-70 on Saturday. Iraklis looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American swingman Kevion Taylor (196-1999, college: Valpo) fired 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Michail Liapis (192-1995) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Iraklis players scored in double figures. Power forward Efstratios Kalogerias (208-1997, college: Norfolk St.) produced 12 points and 6 rebounds and Athanasios Grekas (196-1996) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Iraklis moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Panerythraikos. Loser Amyntas dropped to the twelfth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Agriniou. Iraklis will meet Koroivos (#7) on the road in the next round. Amyntas will play against Charilaos (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
