Regular Season Round 27: Strasbourg - Blois 87-71

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Strasbourg (13-13) beat at home 4th placed Blois (19-7) 87-71 on Saturday. Strasbourg forced 22 Blois turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Illan Pietrus (187-2005) who scored 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. British forward Michael Belle (200-2003) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Strasbourg players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Ivorian forward Dominique Diomande (197-2005) who recorded 10 points and 9 rebounds and Senegalese Moustapha Diallo (-2001) added 16 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Strasbourg have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain tenth place with 13-13 record. Loser Blois keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Strasbourg will meet higher ranked Levallois (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Blois will play against Le Portel and hope to secure a win.
