LF Challenge top team - Ferrol (26-3) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat thirteenth ranked Azkoitia (9-19) 75-67. American center Jenna Allen (190-1997, college: Michigan St., agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Marta Gomez (184-1997, college: Wyoming) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Jone Azcue answered with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Portuguese forward Josephine Filipe (177-1995) added 14 points in the effort for Azkoitia. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ferrol have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 26-3 record. Azkoitia lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Melilla. Ferrol are looking forward to face league's second-placed Zamarat in Zamora in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Azkoitia will play on the road against Real Canoe (#10) in Madrid and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
