There was a surprise result when sixteenth ranked ADA Blois (10-17) defeated on the road higher ranked SIG Strasbourg (11-14) 95-85 on Saturday. ADA Blois made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Mali forward Amadou Sow (206-1998, college: UCSB) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Robert Johnson (192-1995, college: Indiana) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. American point guard Marcus Keene (178-1995, college: CMU) came up with 23 points and 6 assists and the former international center Bodian Massa (205-1997) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for SIG Strasbourg in the defeat. Four SIG Strasbourg players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. ADA Blois moved-up to fifteenth place. Loser SIG Strasbourg keeps the eleventh position with 14 games lost. ADA Blois will meet at home higher ranked Le Portel (#12) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SIG Strasbourg will play against the league's second-placed Metropolitans where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
