Regular Season Round 21: Mega - Vera 116-88

There was no surprise in Tbilisi where 11th ranked Vera (2-17) was crushed by ninth ranked Mega (8-12) 116-88 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Mega. Vera managed to win fourth quarter 28-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Vera's players. Swingman Otari Buliava (198-1994) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists for the winners and American power forward Marqus Gilson (196, college: CWU) chipped in 26 points and 13 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field). Five Mega players scored in double figures. Coach Nikoloz Cherkezishvili's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Luka Zakradze (193-1996) with 35 points (!!!) and 5 assists and forward Vakhtang Gogberashvili (202-2002) scored 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Mega maintains ninth place with 8-12 record. Vera lost their twelfth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Mega's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena .
