Regular Season Round 33: Walbrzych - Tychy 77-60

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Walbrzych. First ranked Gornik faced 4th placed GKS. Host Gornik (26-7) defeated guests from Tychy (21-12) 77-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of GKS. Gornik forced 23 GKS turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by GKS's players. 30 personal fouls committed by GKS helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Arinze Chidom (206-1997, college: UC Riverside) who scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Michal Sitnik (199-2000) chipped in 7 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Gornik players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Piotr Wieloch (182-1994) who recorded 16 points and Radoslaw Trubacz (196-1994) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gornik maintains first place with 26-7 record. GKS at the other side keeps the fourth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Starogard Gd.. Gornik are looking forward to face Kociewskie Diably (#5) in Starogard Gdanski in the next round. GKS will play at home against AZS PO and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
