There was a surprise result when eighteenth ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (9-17) won against on the road higher ranked Limoges CSP Elite (12-15) 89-81 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for Zimbabwean power forward Vitalis Chikoko (208-1991) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Naturalized Congolese Giovan Oniangue (196-1991) accounted for 21 points for the winning side. The former international swingman Nicolas Lang (198-1990) came up with 15 points and 6 assists and American point guard Bryce Jones (183-1994, college: Murray St.) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively for Limoges CSP Elite in the defeat. Limoges CSP Elite's coach let to play ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pau-Lacq-Orthez moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Nancy. Loser Limoges CSP Elite keeps the tenth position with 15 games lost. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will meet at home league's leader Monaco in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Limoges CSP Elite will play against Paris (#13) and hope to secure a win.
