Very expected game when 14th ranked Covadonga (1-23) was crushed at home by third ranked Gijon (19-5) 86-54 on Sunday. Gijon dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Covadonga's 28. They outrebounded Covadonga 47-16 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Javier Lucas (207-1986) fired 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Montenegrin center Filip Knezevic (205-1994) chipped in 8 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Diego Cuetos (178-2004) produced 14 points and Guillermo Pedrosa (187-2002) added 7 points respectively for lost side.
