There was a small surprise when fifteenth ranked Reggio Emilia (8-16) won against at home 13th ranked Scafati (8-16) 78-70 on Sunday. Reggio Emilia made 28-of-36 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. The winners were led by the former international guard Andrea Cinciarini (191-1986) who scored that evening 18 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals and Lithuanian Osvaldas Olisevicius (200-1993) supported him with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Even 18 points by American-Polish guard David Logan (185-1982, college: Indianapolis) did not help to save the game for Scafati. The former international point guard Matteo Imbro (192-1994) added 7 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Reggio Emilia moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Scafati. Reggio Emilia will meet higher ranked Varese (#5) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Scafati will play against Brindisi (#6) and hope to secure a win.
