There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked BT Madrid (8-15) won against on the road higher ranked Guimar (11-12) 76-70 on Sunday. They outrebounded Guimar 40-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. Portuguese Tiago Teixeira (-2004) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists for the winners. Forward Asier De la Iglesia (201-1983) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Four BT Madrid players scored in double figures. Point guard Joaquin Portugues (185-1995) produced 16 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and power forward Jorge Parrondo (194-2000) added 21 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. BT Madrid moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Calpe. Loser Guimar keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. BT Madrid will meet higher ranked Chlorella (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Guimar will play against Chlorella and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
