No shocking result in a game when third ranked Union Rennes (4-3) edged at home 9th ranked Orchesien BC (2-5) 82-79 on Tuesday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Union Rennes forced 22 Orchesien BC turnovers. Union Rennes looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for Guinean forward Cheick Sekou-Conde (203-1992) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Lucas Fontaine (180-1996) helped adding 10 points and 5 assists. Union Rennes' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Lithuanian Augustinas Venckus (190-1997) responded with 17 points and 6 assists and swingman Joffrey Verbeke (195-1987) scored 10 points and 5 assists. Four Orchesien BC players scored in double figures. Union Rennes maintains third place with 4-3 record having just three points less than leader Pont-de-Cheruy, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Orchesien BC dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Union Rennes will meet league's second-placed SPO Rouen on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
