Second Stage Round 7: Toulouse - Besancon 78-84

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Besancon (2-5) won against on the road 4th placed Toulouse (3-3) 84-78 on Tuesday. Besancon had a 34-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for power forward Guillaume Valayer (201-1996) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Serbian swingman Nikola Knezevic (200-1999) helped adding 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Besancon players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Victor Mopsus (179-1999) responded with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Cedric Andre (202-1993) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Toulouse's coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Besancon moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Toulouse dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Besancon will meet at home higher ranked Vendee Challans (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Toulouse will play against Andrezieux and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
