Very expected game when 16th ranked Melilla (6-21) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Alicante (17-10) 88-70 on Wednesday. It was a great evening for American forward Sean McDonnell (203-1995, college: Westmont, agency: Helping Ballers) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Montenegrin guard Nikola Rakocevic (192-1991) helped adding 17 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American point guard Trey Davis (183-1993, college: UMass) with 18 points and forward Joan Pardina (202-1993, agency: BIG) scored 6 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Alicante moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Valladolid and Lleida. Loser Melilla dropped to the bottom position with 21 games lost. They share it with Albacete and Iraurgi SB. Alicante will meet at home Valladolid (#5) in the next round. Melilla will play against the league's second-placed Andorra (#2) and hope to secure a win.
