Everything could happen in Barcelona at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Barca CBS and 11th ranked Jairis had identical 11-16 record. This time Barca CBS used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Alcantarilla 58-52 on Wednesday night. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Anna Cruz (173-1986) who scored 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international guard Marta Canella (178-1995) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Mozambican forward Tamara Seda (193-1994, college: UTEP) who recorded 4 points and 11 rebounds and American-Slovenian power forward Shante Evans (185-1991, college: Hofstra) added 12 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Barca CBS (12-16) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with IDK Eustotren and Bembibre. Jairis at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Ensino. Barca CBS will meet higher ranked Araski (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jairis will play against Gernika (#5) and hope to secure a win.
