Regular Season Round 27: Tenerife - Zaragoza 47-72
Date: April 5, 2023
Everything went according to plan in San Cristobal where fourth ranked Zaragoza (21-8) outscored bottom-ranked Tenerife (3-25) 72-47 on Wednesday. Zaragoza looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Vega Gimeno (185-1991, college: RMU) who scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Belgian center Serena-Lynn Geldof (197-1997, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian point guard Maja Miljkovic (175-1988) who recorded 10 points and 5 rebounds and guard Concepcion Fernandez-Satorre (170-2000) added 13 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zaragoza have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 21-8 record. Tenerife lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 25 lost games. Zaragoza will meet at home Bembibre (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Tenerife will play against Estudiantes (#7) in Madrid and hope to secure a win.
