Regular Season Round 26: Monfalcone - Desio 92-84

There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Monfalcone (12-14) won against at home higher ranked Desio (15-11) 92-84 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Desio 44-33 including 29 on the defensive glass. Point guard Marco Bacchin (185-1997) notched 32 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and center Devil Medizza (197-1990) supported him with 14 points and 16 rebounds. Even 23 points by power forward Giacomo Maspero (204-1992) did not help to save the game for Desio. Lorenzo Lovato (192-2001) added 15 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Four Monfalcone and five Desio players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Monfalcone moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Sangiorgese and Salerno. Loser Desio keeps the fourth position with 11 games lost. Monfalcone will meet at home higher ranked Padova Unione (#9) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Desio will play against Cd'Orlando (#7) and hope to secure a win.
