No shocking result in a game when second ranked Tirana (13-2) crushed at home bottom-ranked Elbasani (1-15) 85-52. Tirana dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Elbasani's 36. Tirana forced 19 Elbasani turnovers and outrebounded them 51-26 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Elbasani's players. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Ebi Dishnica (182-1997) who led her team to a victory scoring 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Serbian forward Tijana Djukic (193-1993, college: Utah St.) helped adding 13 points and 9 rebounds. Five Tirana players scored in double figures. Tirana's coach felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Sidorela Zenuni (-1995) responded with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and guard Xhemile Ahmetaj (173-1997) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Tirana. They maintain second place with 13-2 record having just two points less than leader Flamurtari. Elbasani lost their fourteenth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with 15 games lost. They share it with Berleti. Tirana will play against Vllaznia (#4) in Shkodra in the next round. Elbasani will play at home against Berleti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
