Regular Season Round 27: St. Chamond - Lille 81-93

There was no surprise when 15th ranked Saint Chamond (10-17) lost at home to fourth ranked Lille Metropole (18-9) 93-81 on Friday. Lille Metropole looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was an exceptional evening for center Bastien Vautier (210-1998) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Luc Loubaki (191-1997, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 15 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. American forward Hasan Varence (198-1997, college: Ohio Dominican) came up with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Nigerian-American forward Josh Ajayi (201-1996, college: USA) added 13 points respectively for Saint Chamond in the defeat. Saint Chamond's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lille Metropole maintains fourth place with 18-9 record. Saint Chamond lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. Lille Metropole will meet at home ASA (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Saint Chamond will play against Chalons-Reims (#6) and hope to secure a win.
