There was an upset when higher ranked Poitiers (4-4) was edged on the road by ninth ranked Mulhouse (3-5) 80-77 on Friday. Mulhouse made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Poitiers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by point guard Frederic Loubaki (195-1997) who scored that evening 10 points and 9 assists and Benjamin Mondesir (195-1999) supported him with 22 points. Even 13 points and 7 rebounds by Ivorian center Bali Coulibaly (199-1995, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Poitiers. Forward Alexis Dargenton (203-1994, college: Utah St.) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Poitiers' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Mulhouse moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Poitiers dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Mulhouse will meet higher ranked Loon-Plage (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Poitiers will play against STB Le Havre and hope to secure a win.
