There was a minor upset in Barcelona where 7th ranked Almeda (13-13) was crushed by ninth ranked GEIG (11-15) 59-36 on Saturday. GEIG held Almeda to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.4 percent accuracy of the winners. Forward Vanessa Gonzalez (184-1994) scored 9 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Julia Fernandez chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest.
