Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Treviso (10-15) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Sassari (15-10) 81-68 on Saturday. Sassari had a 29-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American point guard Chris Dowe (189-1991, college: Bellarmine, agency: GoEmpire Group) fired 14 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Naturalized Senegalese power forward Ousmane Diop (204-2000) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Five Sassari players scored in double figures. American center Octavius Ellis (208-1993, college: Cincinnati) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Nigerian point guard Ike Iroegbu (188-1995, college: WSU) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sassari maintains fourth place with 15-10 record. Treviso lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 15 games lost. They share it with Trieste. Sassari will meet Brindisi (#6) on the road in the next round. Treviso will play against Reggio Emilia (#14) and hope to secure a win.
