Regular Season Round 26: Granada - Unicaja 69-101
Date: April 8, 2023
No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Unicaja (17-9) crushed on the road 15th ranked Granada (8-18) 101-69 on Saturday. Unicaja shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Granada's players. American-Montenegrin point guard Kendrick Perry (183-1992, college: YSU) notched 11 points and 9 assists to lead the effort and American Tyler Kalinoski (193-1992, college: Davidson) supported him with 16 points. Five Unicaja players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by Senegalese center Mamadou Niang (209-1994) did not help to save the game for Granada. Senegalese center Youssou Ndoye (213-1991, college: St.Bonaventure) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Unicaja have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 17-9 record. Newly promoted Granada keeps the fifteenth place with 18 games lost. Unicaja will meet at home Obradoiro (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Granada will play against Manresa (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
