Second Stage Round 2: RO SAzzurra - Mantova 87-70

There was a minor upset in Roma where Mantova was defeated by RO SAzzurra 87-70 on Saturday. RO SAzzurra dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Mantova's 28 and made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. American guard Duane Wilson (190-1994, college: Texas A&M) scored 26 points to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Jacopo Giachetti (191-1983) chipped in 19 points during the contest. Wilson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five RO SAzzurra players scored in double figures. RO SAzzurra's coach Luca Bechi used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward LaQuinton Ross (203-1992, college: Ohio St.) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Keshun Sherrill (175-1994, college: Augusta) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. RO SAzzurra will meet Chieti on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mantova will play against Juvi Cremona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
