Regular Season Round 20: Elbasani - Berleti 81-35

Bottom-ranked Elbasani managed to get a second victory, breaking the fourteen-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time they outleveled sixth-ranked Berleti 81-35. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 46-point difference proves that Elbasani was well-prepared to that game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Berleti's 18. Elbasani forced 27 Berleti turnovers and outrebounded them 51-31 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 1 passes made by Berleti's players. The best player for the winners was Sidorela Zenuni (-1995) who scored 29 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 8 steals. Point guard Dea Sali (166-2004) chipped in a double-double by scoring 25 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. Elbasani's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Emi Skuqi (-2001) produced 10 points and 9 rebounds and Neda Uka added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Elbasani (2-15) moved-up to sixth place. Berleti lost ninth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 16 games lost. Elbasani will meet higher ranked Studenti (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Berleti will play against Vllaznia in Shkodra and hope to win that game.
