Very predictable result when sixth ranked Chalons-Reims (17-11) defeated at home 15th ranked Saint Chamond (10-18) 88-78 on Tuesday. Chalons-Reims looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American point guard Marquis Jackson (183-1994, college: Ohio Christian) fired 30 points and 5 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners. Power forward Vincent Vent (207-1997) chipped in 8 points and 7 rebounds. Nigerian-American forward Josh Ajayi (201-1996, college: USA) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and center Mathieu Boyer (208-1995) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Saint Chamond players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Chalons-Reims moved-up to fifth place. Saint Chamond lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Quimper. Chalons-Reims will meet higher ranked Lille Metropole (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
