Regular Season Round 28: Boulazac - Antibes 83-68
Date: April 11, 2023
The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Boulazac Basket as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Saint-Quentin) loss. Boulazac Basket defeated 5th ranked Olympique Antibes at home 83-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Olympique Antibes. Boulazac Basket players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by Bathiste Tchouaffe (196-1998) who scored that evening 24 points and American point guard Nicolas Moore (175-1992, college: SMU) supported him with 19 points and 8 assists. Even 14 points and 9 rebounds by American-Italian swingman Timothy Derksen (192-1993, college: USF) did not help to save the game for Olympique Antibes. Power forward Jean-Marc Pansa (208-1997) added 14 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Boulazac Basket (20-8) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Saint Quentin and Chalon/Saone. Olympique Antibes at the other side dropped to the sixth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Vichy Clermont. Olympique Antibes will play next round against Nantes trying to get back on the winning streak. Boulazac Basket will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Saint-Quentin on the road.
