Regular Season Round 26: Borgomanero - Vigevano 78-71

There was an upset when higher ranked Vigevano (19-7) lost on the road to fourteenth ranked Borgomanero (9-17) 78-71 on Wednesday. Daniele Benzoni (194-1980) notched 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Andrea Cecchi (196-2005) supported him with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Borgomanero's coach Stefano Di Cerbo used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 23 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) by forward Lorenzo DAlessandro (198-1996, agency: SLN) did not help to save the game for Vigevano. Point guard Filippo Rossi (193-1997) added 10 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the guests. Four Vigevano players scored in double figures. Borgomanero moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Casale Libertas. Loser Vigevano keeps the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Piombino. Borgomanero will meet league's second-placed Livorno Pielle on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Vigevano will play against Gallarate and hope to secure a win.
