Second Stage Round 5: Osijek - Kastela 79-92

The biggest surprise of round 5 in Prva Liga was guest Kastela's (20-6) road victory over second-ranked Osijek (19-7) 92-79 on Wednesday evening. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The best player for the winners was forward Ante Perkusic (196-2002) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. The former international guard Ante Delas (200-1988) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Five Kastela players scored in double figures. American point guard Christian Bradford (185-1995, college: Radford) produced 30 points and 5 rebounds and guard Dino Butorac (191-1990) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Osijek's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kastela have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Osijek at the other side dropped to the third position with seven games lost. Kastela are looking forward to face Omis-Cagalj T. (#6) in Galeb in the next round. Osijek will play on the road against Kvarner 2010 in Rijeka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
